The repair shop is located in the 11th District of Vienna and is used for servicing public transportation vehicles, such as trams and buses. It is the largest repair shop of Vienna’s public transportation company Wiener Linien. Besides of building a new administrative building and central spare parts depot, the project included the reconstruction of the approx. 70,000 m² workshop (hall dimension approx. 400 m x 180 m) dating back to the year 1966. The work also included earthquake-proofing of the primary bearing structure, the installation of lifting and maintenance platforms for trams, the restructuring of the bus maintenance sector and the HVAC system for the entire hall. All the construction works had to be carried out during normal business operations.
